Верит, потому что Тесла уже умеет Level 3, хотя и не везде. Не умеет Level 4. Аварии из-за того, что люди разницу не знают и думают, что автопилот умеет сам рулить без присмотра.

Маск считает, что можно взять одну могучую нейронную сетку и воткнуть в неё напрямую все сенсоры и все рычаги управления. Обучить сетку по самое не могу, и она будет эффективно управлять автомобилем.

Не выходит. То есть только до какой-то ограниченной степени.

Это ограничение есть, сети плохо работают в ситуациях, которые редко встречаются в обучающей выборке. Если человек увидит переходящего дорогу бегемота в полоску, то удивился, но не бросит управление и не въедет в него. А сетка может, потому что в обучающей выборке был только один бегемот без полосок. Но это ограничение можно обойти, если сделать достаточно сложную сеть, которая сумеет обобщать, как это умеет пресловутый ChatGPT.

А вот с нехваткой информации ничего сделать нельзя. Маск знаменит тем, что даже отказался от лидара и радара на Тесле в пользу видеокамер, которые дешевле. Потом вроде передумал, но всё равно за угол они не видят.

Level 3 will give drivers the ability to be present and only intervene when needed. It would allow people to actively turn their attention to something else like reading a book or watching a movie during a long road trip.

The accidents with Tesla Autopilot happen because people think that. Level 3 means you need to constantly pay attention, otherwise you won't be ready to intervene.

You can't get to level 4 with just AI. You need beacons in every car and in road infrastructure. I have two blind intersections on my commute where you can't see approaching cars you're supposed to yield to.
